The Research Assistant (RA) will be responsible for assisting in the management of everyday operations for Pregnancy Study Online (PRESTO) and the Study of Environment, Lifestyle, and Fibroids (SELF) at the Boston University School of Public Health.
The RA will be critical to ensuring the smooth operation of the PRESTO and SELF studies. Specific responsibilities will include managing all contacts with study subjects; tracing lost subjects; coordinating participant compensation; monitoring success of advertising, corresponding with advertisers, and designing new ads using multiple ad platforms; updating study website (e.g. research results/FAQs); performing quality control and basic statistical analyses; performing literature reviews; assisting with mailings and subject tracking for validation study and substudies (E-PRESTO, clearblue, semen testing); monitoring biospecimen collection and coordinating sample shipments; organizing research meetings, drafting meeting minutes; maintaining up-to-date IRB applications and study protocols; and drafting grant progress reports.
The RA will also assist the Principal Investigator and senior staff with basic administrative tasks, including booking of travel, processing of travel and meeting expenses, grant writing, conference preparation, and manuscript submission.
Proficiency in Word, Access, and Excel is required.
A background in the natural sciences (e.g., biology, chemistry) or public health is strongly preferred.
