The Quality Assurance Lab Supervisor ensures the quality system by supervising the collection of samples and performance of microbiological tests as well as chemical tests for the proximate analysis of food products.

• Monitor testing procedures in areas of the process relating to microbiology and chemistry testing.
• Supervises and trains lab personnel
• Reviews and records data from analysis performed in the laboratory
• Provide necessary documentation to assure that established standards of quality are met
• Report any quality deviations to appropriate staff
• Troubleshoot and correct product performance issues
• Utilize SPC and other statistical tools to improve areas within the QA function
• Provide necessary technical resources to all department managers
• Complete related duties as assigned

Required Skills

• Bachelor of Science degree preferred   
• Minimum of 2 years experience in a food manufacturing facility.
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally with employees at all levels of the organization.
• Demonstrate ability to work with employees at all levels and to motivate direct reports.
• Must be willing to participate on cross functional teams.
• Strong analytical skills.  Possess the ability to translate data into information and insights that engage the intended audience. 
• Proficient in Microsoft office software (Excel, Word, Powerpoint) SAP.
• Active learner who is receptive to coaching.
• Position requires the physical agility to perform continuous lifting up to 15 pounds, bending, squatting, pushing, pulling, stretching/reaching, use hands or fingers, talk, hear, feel objects, tools, controls and standing/walking on concrete flooring.
• Work can be performed within a manufacturing plant environment with noise, extreme temperatures, and significant movement of powered equipment, people and conveyor.
• Work is generally performed within a business professional office environment, with standard office equipment available.
• Position requires the physical ability to stand/walk for duration of required work hours
