  • Responsibilities

    BUGSDM is looking to fill the position of Repair Technician. The technician will be responsible to service, repair and maintain all Clinical and Laboratory equipment associated with patient treatment care, student and resident learning facilities including Simulation Learning Centers. Technical aptitude, problem solving and knowledge of biomedical and/or dental technology highly recommended. Hardware and software installation experience desired for computer based dental and lab equipment including CAD/CAM. The technician will collaborate with a team to complete tasks set forth by the manager.

     

    Responsibilities:

     

    • Service, repair and maintain all clinical and simulation dental equipment in patient treatment centers, simulation learning and laboratory areas at BUSDM including any remote sites.

    • Assist the Assistant Director of Facilities and Operations in all technical clinical and laboratory service relating to all patient treatment centers; including dental equipment for, Treatment Centers, Simulation Learning environments, Imaging Equipment (Intraoral/CBCT), CAD/CAM, Sterilization Equipment and all small equipment.

    • Provide routine maintenance including Annual Preventative Maintenance on clinical and laboratory dental equipment including but not limited to; Treatment Center Chairs, Imaging Equipment, Sterilization Equipment and Digital Dental equipment CAD/CAM design and milling services.

    • Assist with procuring supplies and material to support equipment to prolong life expectancy. Assist with evaluating life expectancy on equipment along with preparing analysis on life cycle replacement scheduling.

    • Maintain and organize all inventories of all dental equipment supplies and spare parts which include electronic based software for inventory, Preventative Maintenance, etc.

    • Assess, service and repair student hand pieces and provide a timely turn around on repair to ensure students have equipment needed for treatments sessions and education.

    • Work as a team to complete tasks set forth by the manager.

    • Provides and maintains the necessary tools of the trade and have readily available to perform installation and repair services.

    • Follow proper troubleshooting steps to diagnose errors on technical problems and determine proper solutions.

    • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as required.

    Required Skills

    • Qualified candidates should be familiar with Dental Equipment, industry standards and basic knowledge of repairs to pneumatic dental equipment and digital platforms, digital support, sterilization equipment, CAD/CAM technical service, etc.
    • Vocational or Technical training required
    • Must work well independently
    • Must be cross trained on dental technologies. Digital and pneumatic platforms for treatment center equipment (digital x-ray/software, digital CAD/CAM, etc.)
    • Exceptional technical and problem-solving skills
    • Advanced computer skills
    • 1-4 years experience required dental industry experience with demonstrated proficiency. Strong mechanical background. Service and install experience

    • REFERENCES: We require 2-3 professional references (no friends or family) with at least 1 previous supervisor.
