    At Health Benefits, we value our diverse team and we’re looking for individuals that want to learn and grow their careers with us!  We are seeking an Entry Level Billing Specialist for our West Des Moines location, IA. In this position, you will have the ability to work from home in a HYBRID capacity. You will receive 4-weeks of training to give you the knowledge and tools to be successful in your new role. Please note, you will be working in the West Des Moines office during the training period. The work schedule is 8:00 am – 4:30 pm CST or 7:00 am to 3:30 pm CST, Mon- Fri.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

    • Completion of daily funding for billing payments. Performs other administrative banking processes for claims checks previously issued.
    • Processing of all billing statements, including maintenance of group rates.
    • Performs peer review for daily billing and commission processes performed.
    • Research billing/commission requests from clients and other departments.
    • Actively takes part in testing and enhancement of billing and commission applications.
    • Responding or reaching out regarding calls on billing payments and inquiries.
    • Other duties as needed/assigned.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:

    • 2+ years of bookkeeping experience in an office environment or equivalent work experience/ College Degree.
    • Must work with high degree of accuracy, courtesy, timeliness, logic, and structure.
    • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
    • Having a collaborative mindset to work effectively with other team members and departments throughout the organization.
    • Ability to handle simultaneous tasks and meet deadlines.

    Required Skills Required Experience

  • Qualifications
    • Bachelors Degree, certifications in instructional design or related field preferred.
    • Three to five years of direct experience designing, creating, editing, and launching digital instructional content. Demonstrated ability to apply instructional design principles, learning theory, and educational technologies in the design and development of learning experiences.
    • Experience working with digital content creation tools, other educational technology tools, and multiple learning management systems.
    • Experience collaborating with others, preferably in a higher education setting, to scope, develop, and deliver online learning experiences.
    • Working knowledge of the online/hybrid instructional space, including online teaching and learning, open courses, and mixed modalities.
    • Working knowledge of standard web markup languages and best practices (HTML/CSS).
    • Exceptional organizational and time management skills; familiarity with common task or project management tools (MS Teams, Trello, Asana, or similar) preferred.
    • An adaptable mindset to work as part of a growing team in the shifting landscape of the institution and higher education in general. Flexibility, imagination, and creative problem-solving skills.
