    The Health Systems team supports PATH’s PHC portfolio in its mission to accelerate person-centered PHC through innovation and partnership.

     

    The Health Systems team at PATH is hiring an intern with skills and training in qualitative research to contribute to a review of the effectiveness of microplanning as a strategy to increase immunization coverage and equity. The internship will run for approximately four months (April-July 2023).

     

    Gain applied experience systematically reviewing literature related to high priority topics in immunization, and using those findings to develop recommendations for improvement in policy and practice.

    • Contribute to the design and implementation of a literature review to identify evidence on the effectiveness of microplanning for routine immunization.

    • Contribute to the design of data collection tools for primary data collection.

    • Contribute to the analysis and synthesis of qualitative data.

     

    The intern will have the opportunity to engage in high priority policy topics, playing a key role in gathering evidence from the peer reviewed and grey literature on the effectiveness of microplanning processes, and strategies to better institutionalize these tools. The intern will receive direct supervision from members of PATH’s health systems team, and the opportunity to liaise with a broader network of collaborators as part of the USAID-funded Momentum Routine Immunization Transformation and Equity (MRITE) project.

     

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

    • Qualitative research coursework, some application preferred

    • Experience conducting literature reviews

    • Experience/interest in public health, PHC and immunization systems

    • Proactive, motivated, self-directed learner with good problem-solving skills

    • Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

     

    COVID-19 VACCINE REQUIREMENT:

     

    PATH has instituted a COVID-19 vaccine mandate for all employees, interns, consultants, and temporary staff based in the United States.     PhD in Anatomy, Neuroscience or a related science; experience in teaching and training PhD and MA/MS students in the biomedical sciences.  Collegial and collaborative approach to graduate education and training, outstanding organization and communication skills.
