    POSITION SUMMARY: 

    This position provides electronics hardware support at Bendix; responsible for electronic circuit design, analysis, validation and trouble-shooting. This position would provide general electrical engineering support of all electronic products; including but not limited to antilock brake systems, stability control, driver assist and tire pressure monitoring systems. 

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

    • Assist with defining, designing and commissioning validation and functional hardware testers
    • Gather information from drawings, specifications and design engineers necessary to help develop tests and documentation
    • Participate in review of functional tester designs with all the stakeholders thoroughly before integration
    • Support plan and design of component and system level tests along with the test procedures
    • Work closely with engineering team to ensure component and system level test reports are generated in a timely manner
    • Perform data analysis to support documentation of performance and durability test reports for validation of components
    • Conducts SPICE simulation including Worst-Case (WC) and Monte-Carlo (MC) analyses.
    • Determine design trade-offs and perform tolerances analyses.
    • Creates, conducts and supports electronic FMEAs & fault tree analyses (as req).
    • Creates all component documentation including design, product and test specifications.
    • Support electronic manufacturing; including process FMEA, control plan, function test, in-circuit test.
    • Creates test plans and supports all electronic tests including EMC.
    • Perform environmental & reliability testing.
    • Troubleshoot and isolate problems in test equipment and Unit Under Test
    • Understanding of Software and Hardware Integration and Test processes
    • Compile test data to demonstrate the functional testers meets the specified requirements
    • Use company technical documentation and provide feedback for improvement and assist in creating technical documentation
    • Interact with cross-functional groups (engineers, program management, manufacturing personnel)
    • Assist in scheduling of component and system test reports per priorities/program needs
    • Follow guidelines for Lab safe operation
    • Travel as required for the purposes of setup and troubleshooting of long term durability and validation testing

    KNOWLEDGE: 

    • Self-starter with a strong sense of urgency, creativity, and confidence to achieve quality results quickly.

    • Ability to plan and organize technical aspect of assigned projects.
    • Able to work in a cross-functional team in a dynamic working environment; including with international team members.

    • Automotive Testing and Validation is a plus
    • Familiar with automotive best practices and standards; such as SAE standards, DIN standards, IPC standards and IEEE methods a plus
    • Familiar with ISO-9001 / ISO-9000 Quality Systems.
    • Knowledge of embedded systems
    • EMC / EMI testing experience is required
    • Familiarity with modular test instruments and I/O Systems (PXI, cDAQ, PCI, PCIe)

     

    EDUCATION: 

    • BS in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Physics Engineering discipline
    • MS in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or Physics Engineering discipline is preferred

    • Programming ability in LabVIEW is a plus

    • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills and a positive/proactive work ethic.
    • Capable of prioritizing time/resources/goals and possess strong interpersonal skills to ensure success in a cross-functional, team environment.

    Required Experience

    • A minimum of 6+ years of experience preferably in hardware or electrical engineering.
    • Hands on EMI / EMC testing experience
    • Experience in the heavy-duty truck, bus and/or automotive market is a plus.
    • Product design experience is a plus.
    • Ability to work in a cross-functional team in a dynamic working environment including international team members
    • Experience in testing of CAN, Ethernet, Flexray and UDS diagnostics services is a plus
