    SUMMARY OF OVERALL PURPOSE

     

    Leads and manages the day-to-day activities and mentors the teams that perform manual and web enrollments of brokers as well as the payment of broker commissions and vendor invoices. Acts as a subject matter expert on all broker and vendor matters and works cross functionally with other departments on strategic initiatives. Accomplishes department objectives by managing staff, planning and evaluating department activities. Responsible for processing the monthly payments to a significant subset of key vendors. Defines best practices and works in concert with other Business Units. Responsible for hiring, as well as performance management for the team. Helps staff achieve a higher level of performance and professionalism by providing unbiased, constructive, and consistent feedback and training to employees.

    BROKER COMPENSATION MANAGEMENT

    • Process broker appointments and create necessary GroupFacts records on New Brokers
    • Scrub New Business to make sure all appointment and licensing guidelines are met.
    • Research compliance issues and make recommendations on how to proceed

     

    WORKFLOW AND PROCESS MANAGEMENT

    • Responsible for identifying, creating, and maintaining necessary overall workflow processes within the team
    • Collaborates with other departments that impact the quality / quantity of work within the team
    • Oversees and prioritizes long term work output of team to ensure targets and goals are met and adjusts as necessary
    • Identifies and prioritizes system enhancements to meet changing client needs to increase staff effectiveness – collaborates with IT and others in requirements, testing and implementation process
    • Develops standards, policies, and procedures to support exceptional customer experience
    • Manages day to day operations of the team
    • Oversees production to guarantee that goals and quality percentages are consistently obtained
    • Handles escalated customer service calls or emails/letters
    • Enforces systems, policy, procedures, and productivity standards
    • Actively participates in all projects as a subject matter expert responsible for gathering and writing concise and accurate business requirements to support development of any items related to GroupFacts and other operational applications. Ensure that all deliverables and testing are completed within established due dates.

     

    TEAM MANAGEMENT & OPERATIONS

    • Anticipates talent needs and partners with HR to ensure the department is positioned to meet current and future workloads
      • Ensures appropriate staff development structures are in place to support the current and future needs of the department based on leadership principles and business goals
      • Develops training goals and delegates the creation and execution of training to accomplish goals
    • Responsible for the results of the organization through Performance Metrics and Standards implemented through the team
    • Oversees department’s support (resources and effort) of Trustmark projects
    • Influence and support changes in organizational behavior. Lead efforts to facilitate team building; resolve conflicts between work groups; changes in group norms values and culture
    • Manages the work of outside consultants/temporary contractors when used
    • Facilitate team efforts, helping to define project goals, timelines, resource requirements and planning to cope with conflict or stressor points in the plans
    • Motivate and encourage staff – coach / counsel / develop. Provide staff with constructive feedback
    • Conduct team meetings and individual one-on-ones
    • Recognize and give credit to staff as needed
    • Maintain a safe, secure and legal work environment

     

    FINANCIAL REPORTING/OTHER

    • Creates and manages budget and staffing model
    • Responsible for the processes established as part of the Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR)
    • Coordinates EDI file testing
    • Ensures appropriate tracking and management reports are in place to assess the department’s overall financial health
    • Other duties as assigned

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    PREFERRED

    • MINIMUM 3 YEARS’ EXPERIENCE IN MANAGING/ADMINISTERING BROKER COMPENSATION AND VENDOR PAYMENTS AT AN ORGANIZATION

    • BS DEGREE OR EQUIVALENT WORK EXPERIENCE.

    • PROFICIENCY IN MICROSOFT OFFICE. DEMONSTRATE FAMILIARITY WITH WORD, EXCEL AND ACCESS.

    • PAYS CLOSE ATTENTION TO DETAIL AND POSSESS STRONG ANALYTICAL SKILLS.

    Required Skills Required Experience

  • Qualifications
    • 5 years of experience in related field is preferred.

    • Food manufacturing experience in the meat industry required; formulation/smokehouse operations/blending/stuffing experience preferred. • Strategic, analytical and conceptual problem solver. • Well organized, self-starter capable of working across an organization to accomplish desired objectives. • Aptitude for equipment operation and troubleshooting. • Ability to develop and maintain strong, effective internal customer and business partner relationships. • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), interpersonal and influencing skills. • Must possess self-awareness and a proven track record of success. • Must be able to drive improvements in manufacturing processes. • Must be able to put new systems & procedures in place, while instilling accountability and ownership in a rapidly changing environment. • Sense of urgency and ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-energy environment. • Assists with Quality Control programs to safeguard product quality. • Conducts internal audits to ensure compliance with company standards. • MS office suite advanced proficiency (Word, Excel, and Outlook

    • This role requires 30%+ domestic travel. • Extreme temperatures of cold and warm along with wearing the proper PPE while work performed within a manufacturing environment. • Position requires the physical agility to perform continuous lifting up to 15 pounds, bending, squatting, pushing, pulling, stretching/reaching, use hands or fingers, talk, hear, feel objects, tools, controls and standing/walking on concrete flooring. • Position requires the physical ability to stand/walk for duration of required work hours
