This opportunity to lead the build-out of our Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environment at NCI and NIH, is truly a game-changing opportunity. This position offers you the ability to leverage your current technical skillset and consulting background to work directly with our NCI IT leadership team including our CIO, Federal Cloud Lead, and our Information System Security Officer (ISSO). In addition, since NCI is a multi-cloud environment, there will be ample opportunity to support our cloud team with further development of our existing AWS cloud environment.

What you need to succeed (Required):

• A “team-first” attitude

• Excellent customer facing skills and the calm professional demeanor necessary to bolster customer confidence when stress is highest.

• Strong knowledge of GCP services and core features.

• 4+ years of experience in an Infrastructure Operations-centric role; 2+ years of experience in cloud engineering / DevOps.

• Extended experience of CI/CD pipeline solutions ability to propose and implement end to end complex CI/CD pipeline deployments

• Infrastructure automation experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, and Terraform.

• Possess Strong Cloud Implementation Experience in Cloud architecture and design for compute, storage, network, and security services in GCP.

• Possess experience in cloud solutions for end customers

What skills will set you apart:

• Operational experience with Container Based Hosting using Docker, Kubernetes, and/or AWS Container Service

• Cloud Service Provider Certifications at the Associate, Engineer, Professional level with emphasis on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) certifications

Work Qualifications:

• 6 - 10 years of relevant engineering experience

Education Requirements:

• B.S. Computer Science, similar technical field of study, or equivalent practical experience. Certifications: (One or more depending on specific needs).

Clearance:

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a federal Public Trust/Suitability.
