    We are seeking a highly capable Grocery Manager / Merchandising Specialist to oversee the daily operations, presentation, and financial performance of a grocery department. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented retail professional who understands that exceptional merchandising, in-stock excellence, and operational discipline directly drive sales, customer satisfaction, and profitability.

    The successful candidate will manage ordering, inventory control, pricing, and shelf conditions to ensure products are consistently well-stocked, accurately priced, and attractively displayed. You will design and execute compelling merchandising strategies, promotional setups, and seasonal displays that maximize visibility, basket size, and impulse purchases while minimizing shrink and out-of-stocks. A strong command of planograms, category management principles, and data-driven decision-making is essential.

    This position also requires leadership of department staff, including hiring, training, and performance management to maintain a productive, customer-focused team. The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, and proactive, with a proven ability to manage high SKU counts, coordinate with vendors and distributors, and maintain strict standards for cleanliness, safety, and compliance.

    Responsibilities

    Develop and plan merchandising strategies for the store

    Forecast consumer trends and identify preferences of our customers

    Monitor the popularity of existing products

    Negotiate details of sales with suppliers to ensure the best deals for the store

    Report on sales, budgets, and customer satisfaction

    Qualifications

    Previous experience in merchandising is preferred

    Understanding best practices in customer service and sales

    Understanding of effective negotiation skills

    Strong communication skills and willingness to work well with supervisor and coworkers in a team environment
