The Groton city Animal hospital is currently seeking a full time experienced/ new graduate Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our team. As a Licensed Veterinary Technician, you will provide high- quality patient care and assist in diagnostic, medical and surgical procedures for large and small animals. You will work alongside a team of dedicated professionals and have access to diagnostic equipment and adaptive facilities. Responsibilities • Perform patient assessments and perform veterinary nursing care, including medication administration, IV catheter placement, and fluid therapy. • Communicate with clients regarding patient status, treatment plans, and home care instructions. • Assist with diagnostic procedures (radiographs and ultrasounds) and routine surgical procedures. • Perform laboratory work, including hematology, serology, chemistry, urinalysis and microbiology. • Monitor and maintain anesthetic levels and surgical equipment. • Train and mentor other staff members and veterinary assistant students. • Maintain and ensure patient medical records are accurate and complete.

Requirements • Associate degree or higher in Veterinary Technology. • State Veterinary Technician license current, and in good standing. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and practice management software.

We offer a 4 day work week and 1 Saturday a month from 8 to 12 pm.
