Department: Agronomy Reports To: Golf Course Superintendent or Golf Course Foreman

Position Summary:

The Greenskeeper is responsible for maintaining the golf course grounds to ensure optimal playing conditions. This includes the care and maintenance of greens, tees, fairways, bunkers, roughs, and all landscaped areas. The role requires attention to detail, knowledge of turf management practices, and the ability to operate groundskeeping equipment safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform daily maintenance of golf course turf, including mowing, watering, fertilizing, and aerating greens, tees, and fairways.

Maintain bunkers, raking sand and ensuring proper edging and consistency.

Assist with irrigation system maintenance and repair, including monitoring and adjusting watering schedules.

Apply fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides as directed, following all safety and environmental regulations.

Operate and maintain mowers, trimmers, utility vehicles, and other turf care equipment.

Perform course setup duties such as changing hole locations, moving tee markers, and maintaining course signage and amenities.

Assist in tree trimming, landscaping, and general grounds beautification projects.

Report turf issues, equipment problems, or safety hazards to supervisors promptly.

Ensure all work areas are kept clean, safe, and organized.

Support seasonal tasks such as overseeding, topdressing, and sod installation.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience in golf course maintenance, landscaping, or groundskeeping preferred but not required (on-the-job training provided).

Knowledge of turf care practices and basic agronomy a plus.

Ability to operate maintenance equipment safely and effectively.

Strong attention to detail and pride in work quality.

Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.

Physical stamina to perform outdoor labor in various weather conditions.

Working Conditions:

Work performed outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Requires standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 50 lbs, and operating machinery for extended periods.

Early morning start times typical (before sunrise).

Compensation:

Hourly wage based on experience.
