We are growing and seeking a reliable Grounds Maintenance Technician to help keep our properties clean, safe, and well-maintained year-round.
Position Overview
The Grounds Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the exterior grounds and landscaping, and for seasonal snow removal at CFI properties. This position requires hands-on work outdoors in all weather conditions and includes operating grounds equipment, snow removal machinery, and driving snow/plow trucks during the winter season.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in keeping properties looking their best, and has experience with landscaping or snow removal.
Key Responsibilities
Grounds & Landscaping:
- Mow, trim, edge, and maintain lawns and landscaped areas
- Plant, water, prune, and maintain trees, shrubs, and flowers
- Mulch, weed, fertilize, and support seasonal landscaping projects
Snow & Ice Removal:
- Remove snow from sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, and building entrances
- Spread salt, sand, or de-icer materials
- Drive snow trucks and plow trucks to clear parking lots and roadways
- Operate snow blowers, plows, salt spreaders, and other equipment during the winter season
- Respond to weather conditions during early mornings, evenings, weekends, and emergencies
General Maintenance & Safety:
- Maintain and repair groundskeeping tools and equipment
- Remove trash and debris from outdoor areas
- Follow safety guidelines and report hazards
- Support special projects, exterior clean-ups, and resident service needs
Qualifications
Required:
- Experience in landscaping, groundskeeping, or outdoor maintenance
- Ability to safely drive snow trucks and operate snow-removal equipment
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather, including winter storms
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks
- High School Diploma or GED
Preferred:
- Experience with lawn equipment, plow trucks, or maintenance tools
- Knowledge of fertilizers, pesticides, and irrigation systems
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
