Location: St. Paul, Minnesota
Compensation: $15.00–$22.50 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)
Schedule: Primarily Monday–Friday, daytime hours. On-call availability required during snow events or severe weather.
About the Role
Cortex Property Management is seeking a reliable Groundskeeper / Exterior Maintenance Technician to maintain the safety, cleanliness, and appearance of our residential properties year-round. This position is responsible for exterior upkeep and seasonal maintenance across multiple communities—keeping buildings, parking lots, and grounds safe and well-presented in all four Minnesota seasons.
Key Responsibilities
Perform routine exterior inspections to maintain curb appeal and safety.
Maintain lawns, shrubs, and landscaped areas (mowing, trimming, edging, pruning, mulching).
Handle seasonal work, including:
Winter: Snow plowing, shoveling, salting, and ice control.
Spring/Fall: Leaf cleanup, storm debris removal, and gutter clearing.
Summer: Lawn mowing, irrigation checks, and power washing.
Maintain trash enclosures, signage, fencing, and exterior lighting.
Repair or replace exterior fixtures, bollards, and protective mesh as needed.
Operate and maintain equipment including snowplows, skid steers, and commercial mowers.
Keep common areas and parking lots free of debris and hazards.
Respond to weather-related or safety issues after hours as needed.
Report major repairs or hazards to property management promptly.
Qualifications
2+ years of groundskeeping, exterior maintenance, or related experience preferred.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
Experience with snow removal equipment and commercial mowing required.
Ability to work safely with power tools, hand tools, and light machinery.
Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in varied weather.
Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
Strong attention to detail and time management.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Compensation & Benefits
Hourly Rate: $15–$25/hr depending on experience and certifications.
Schedule: Regular daytime hours; on-call rotation for extreme weather response.
