Job Summary As an Arborist Ground Person, at Jarvis Tree Experts you’ll support our tree care crews in the field while developing your skills in arboriculture. This is a hands-on, entry-level role offering a clear path for career advancement within a respected tree care company.

Responsibilities

Work outdoors year-round, assisting with tree care and removal operations.

Support arborists on the ground by handling ropes, equipment, and cleanup.

Learn safe operation and maintenance of tools and machinery, including chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.

Assist with pruning, rigging, cabling, bracing, and tree removals.

Follow all safety policies and procedures—including daily job briefings and proper PPE use.

Set up and maintain safe work zones using cones, signage, and flagging techniques.

Participate in ongoing safety and skills training.

Experience

Proven experience in grounds maintenance or a related field is preferred.

Familiarity with landscaping techniques and horticulture principles.

Experience with bucket operation and tree care practices is highly desirable.

Knowledge of GIS applications related to landscape management is a plus.
