    THIS POSITION WILL BE STATIONED IN BAGHDAD, IRAQ.

    POSITION SUMMARY

    This position serves as a senior analytical advisor on an intelligence analytical team of military and/or DoD civilian analysts in support of the CJ2/J2 analytical requirements.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Responsible for researching, developing, and presenting intelligence products at the operational and strategic levels for senior leaders, including counterterrorism, Middle East regional issues, HUMINT, and political/military analysis
    • Use information gathered during the vetting process in concert with independently developed information to maintain incident tracking databases, link charts, and other specialized reports, and graphic presentations within established timelines
    • Independently identifying additional areas of concern in the open-source threat assessments
    • Respond to e-mail inquiries from other offices regarding threat information in a timeframe commensurate with the urgency of the threat response should include analysis and assessment, as necessary
    • Prepare and present oral briefings on findings to RSO management and other DS or Embassy offices, as appropriate

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Top Secret/SCI clearance
    • Seven (7) years of analytical experience with the Department of State, Department of Defense, or equivalent Government agency
    • Bachelor's degree in the relevant field
    • Strong background in the following analytical areas:
      • Middle East regional analysis
      • Political analysis
      • Intelligence Collections
      • HUMINT analysis
    • Must be proficient in utilizing basic computer applications and intelligence related automation to support analytical efforts and product development
    • Must possess strong briefing skills and be able to effectively directing subordinate analysts in the accomplishment of intelligence products and assessments
    • Must be in good physical condition with no health deficiencies, either temporary or long-lasting, that would impair performance of duties

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Master's degree in the relevant field
