    Job Description

    Position Summary
    The Group Sales Manager is responsible for increasing year-round overall top line revenues through development of group business through proactive and reactive sales of guestroom blocks, events, and group business. This position reports to the Associate Director of Sales.

    The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $75,000 plus sales incentive plan. Actual pay will be dependent on budget and experience; all our salaried roles are eligible for bonus.

    Essential Job Functions/Key Job Responsibilities
    • Develop sales strategy to drive top line revenues for guestrooms and catered events
    • Perform proactive group sales
    • Write group guestroom contracts & call-in blocks
    • Complete the sales process from initial sales contact through contract signing, ensuring a smooth customer experience
    • Coordinate and conduct Group site tours as needed
    • Participate in all sales/events department meetings as instructed by the Associate Director of Sales
    • Develop and continually enhance relationships with key community organizations and professional associations to maintain high visibility and increase Group market share
    • Act as liaison with other departments in the hotel via weekly meetings to provide information in a timely manner and ensure group and catering needs are carried out as contracted
    • Assist in preparation and proofing of Banquet Event Orders as needed, communicate effectively with customers, managers and associates to ensure that all room set-ups, equipment, supplies, staffing and menus meet/exceed customer’s expectations
    • Check in with clients while on-site or in town and use Delphi to track sales efforts as well as complete & detailed notes
    • Follow up post event with Manager(s), reviews event recap notes from banquets & event manager
    • Follow up with a formal thank you to the client, continues with next steps for rebooking
    • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    **Education & Experience Requirements **
    • Bachelor’s degree preferred
    • 2 years of hospitality experience required
    • 2 years' experience in hotel sales required

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
    • Ability to write proposals, contracts, and budgets
    • Working knowledge in Word, Excel, Outlook, Delphi/Amadeus, HMS, and Property Management Systems
    • Knowledge of hotel products or services
    • Detailed knowledge of internal hospitality processes, workflows, and decision-making protocols
    • Ability to meet or exceed individual sales goals for their territory as determined by the VP of Sales
    • Skills in managing relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
    • Able to travel as needed for business within the assigned sales region
    • Ability to influence both internal and external stakeholders
    • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
    • Ability to work with accounting and operations teams to ensure correct and timely billing for groups

    Additional Information

    **Work Environment & Physical Demands **
    • Ability to stand, type and sit at desk/computer for most of the work shift executing repetitive movements
    • No adverse or hazardous conditions
    • Not required, but preferred to be able to occasionally lift, push or pull 25 lbs. individually or with assistance
