Groups Specialist
Summary
The Groups Specialist works directly with travel agents to support group-related inquiries and requirements. The role involves assisting with commission research, hotel contract needs, and ensuring smooth coordination within the department. This position reports to the Director of Group Travel and requires close collaboration with colleagues across the team.
Responsibilities
Assist travel agents with group department inquiries and potential bookings.
Provide research and support related to group commissions.
Support travel agents in meeting group hotel contract requirements.
Coordinate effectively with department colleagues and leadership.
Be flexible to work occasional additional hours or weekends when needed.
Required Skills & Abilities
Minimum of 3 years’ travel agent or agency experience.
Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
Strong sales ability and client service orientation.
Organizational skills with high attention to detail.
Effective time management and ability to meet deadlines.
Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to prioritize and delegate tasks when appropriate.
Capacity to perform well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Supervisory or leadership skills are a plus.
Work Environment & Tools
Standard office setting, primarily seated at a desk for extended periods.
Use of computer, copier, and scanner.
