    GMS is currently seeking a Federal Design-Build Business Development Director, who will be responsible for sales and helping us to further our existing Federal customer relationships and contracts, as well as grow our partner affiliations with small business contractors.

    The employee in this position reports directly to our Executive Vice President responsible for our Federal Client Management Program.

    GMS will consider candidates in any location with preference given to candidates in one of our key office locations including Raleigh, NC, Charlotte, NC, Fairfax, VA, Myrtle Beach, SC and Cleveland, OH.

    Responsibilities:

    We expect our Federal Design-Build Business Development Director to perform the following tasks:

    Support Dewberry with expanding their contract base in the Federal sector, including construction services related to design-build opportunities.

    Provide client management services related to design-build to our U.S. Corps of Engineers (USACE) clients nationally, to include USACE Headquarters, Divisions, Districts, and Centers.

    Develop partner relationships with other prime contractors, especially small-business companies, to create Mentor-Protégé (MP) joint ventures to be able to expand design-build opportunities.

    Assist Dewberry Service Line Leaders, Capture Managers and Program/Project Managers with positioning for Federal opportunities through generating lead development; participating in go/no-go decisions; identifying teaming and joint venture partners and assisting in developing capture strategies.

    Support Dewberry’s Design-Build business unit on the development of task order RFP responses for projects on existing and future MATOCs, for opportunities CONUS and OCONUS.

    Develop partner relationships with key subcontractors and suppliers to improve our technical approach to winning task order RFPs

    Leverage all of Dewberry services and capabilities to expand our client and project opportunities.

    Increase Dewberry’s visibility through active participation at Federal Government related national and regional events, including the identification of other promotional opportunities for Dewberry to expand presence.

    Required Skills & Required Experience:

    Preferred Requirements:

    10 years of executive leadership/experience working directly with or for USACE on construction contracts.

    Must have more than 5 years’ experience in leveraging the MP program in a large business resulting in increased annual sales for a construction company.

    5 years’ experience preparing winning technical and price proposal responses to Federal Government RFPs using Best Value Trade-Off selection and/or Low-Price Technically Acceptable (LPTA) selection.

    Excellent communications skills and have the ability to easily convey complex solutions.

    High energy must be enthusiastic and positive about Dewberry and our people and services.

    Diplomatic and persuasive. Able to influence clients and develop strong business relationships in the public sector.

    Ability to travel nationally and internationally to represent Dewberry.

    Must either hold or have the ability to obtain a DoD Top Secret Clearance.

    Preferred Requirements:

    5 years’ experience with design-build MATOCs from U.S. Army Engineering and Support Center Huntsville (CEHNC)

    Experience delivering construction services to other Federal Government agencies (civilian or defense).

    Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction, or related field

    Must have a valid driver’s license, good driving record and ability to pass a driving record background check.
