You'll be the first addition to our accounting department alongside the CFO - this is your opportunity to have a hand in building a team and creating internal processes from scratch.

    This is your opportunity to work in an internationally sponsored greenfield development project as our first Accounting Manager.

    Accounting Manager – Your Job Duties:

    You will work directly with the Company Controller as an integral foundational employee, supporting company accounting operations.

    • Perform month end close (including account reconciliations, accruals, intercompany transactions and generating a monthly financial statement package) using Quickbooks Enterprise ERP system
    • Perform monthly budget vs. actual analysis
    • Accounts Payable support – process vendor invoices and expense reports
    • Perform construction project accounting activities to track construction costs and allocations
    • Document accounting processes and internal controls, documenting existing processes, bringing ideas to implement new processes and process improvements
    • Assist with financial reporting needs for third parties (audit, tax and other third parties)

    Accounting Manager -Required Skills, Experience & Personality Fit

    You have:

    • Prior experience working in general ledger accounting, month end close and financial statement preparation and reporting
    • Entrepreneurial grit – you are working with a small team where everyone is a builder and an impact maker
    • Desire to build a team from the ground up – you will be the first addition to the accounting department and will have a hand in building the team.
    • Self direction – you work well in a remote environment, manage up and take charge of your career development

    Accounting Manager – You Might Have (Desired, Not Required)

    You might have:

    • Prior experience in public accounting (audit) or internal audit
    • Experience documenting SOPs, internal processes or building processes
    • Prior experience using QuickBooks Enterprise
    • Experience with accounting automations (BILL.com and Divvy)

    You will work mostly remote from your home office, with occasional travel in Sacramento to meet in person. Occasional meetings in the Bay Area may also be required (with plenty of advance notice).

    Compensation $100,000 to $115,000 salary plus incentive bonus potential.
