Job Description
The Logistics Route Optimization Analyst will work as a member of the Network Management team to monitor and improve the transportation network based on weekly routing requirements, volume changes, and network evolution.
This position will be responsible for on-going data analysis and weekly planning of our transportation network and be accountable for using Microsoft Access and other data tools for network analytics and engineered solutions across our customer base.
The position will have exposure through accountability and participation in customer-facing initiatives including periodic visits to customer locations. The Logistics Engineer will also be called on to support operational and accounting initiatives that require analytical tasks.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Data validation, and analysis. Using Microsoft Access, Excel, and Tableau interactive dashboards to monitor and improve incoming data for network planning and optimization.
- Experience with transportation optimization tools (Llamasoft, JDA, 4Flow, etc…).
- In charge of the weekly routing changes and coordination of all required inputs including operations, customers, suppliers, and carriers.
- Manage aggressive project deadlines while ensuring high-quality output for both weekly deliverables and long-term projects.
KEY RESULTS
- Provide key analytical and decision support for routine and long-term network management
- Design and lead on-going network planning and optimization efforts to drive efficiency in our business
- Comprehensive understanding of Business Intelligence that supports efficient predictive analytics and network optimization efforts
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Data Management, or equivalent combination of experience and education
- Minimum of 1-3 years’ experience in one or more key functional areas: transportation management, supply chain decision support, logistics systems/technology. Ideally with operational experience.
- Experience working in the Third-party Logistics industry
- Detailed knowledge of surface transportation (Consolidation/Pool Distribution, Truckload, LTL, Expedite) modes.
- Experience with designing and implementing complex transportation routings (multi-stop truckloads, multi-leg consolidations, continuous movements, reverse logistics, etc.)
- Excellent verbal, written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with multiple teams to integrate technology, business requirements, and real-world operations
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
· Knowledge of MRP/ERP and material planning concepts (SAP, T4M, QAD, Plex, etc…)
· Detailed understanding of packaging, containerization, and material handling concepts
· Proficient with Microsoft Office tools (Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
· Eye for detail auditing data, identifying gaps, and driving resolution
· Experience with Tableau or other business intelligence products a plus
· Process-oriented with attention to operating procedures and continuous improvement
