VOE Specialist

The objective of the Verification of Employment (VOE) Specialist is to verify employment and income information for individuals applying for mortgage loans. The specialist will operate out of an existing workflow, there are no sales involved. In this fast-paced environment, the VOE Specialist will reach out daily, either by phone or email, to individual employers across the nation to verify and obtain employment information. While no previous office experience is required, applicants must be computer savvy, with the ability to multitask and a drive to provide great customer service.

Specific Duties will include, but not be limited to:

Act as a support to the Underwriting department by providing compliant Verification of Employment Verifications

Communicates with employers and clients by phone, email or fax

Review, Analyze and mitigate any issues as presented

Provide exemplary service to our customers and teammates

Review and respond appropriately as point of contact for communication and escalation

Learn ongoing changes and upgrades to verification process

Complete tasks / projects that have been assigned by management

Required Skills/Qualifications:

Advanced ability to work independently with appropriate judgment and analytical skills

Demonstrated ability to communicate professionally in all facets

Exemplary oral skills and phone etiquette a must

Excellent organization skills, must prioritize workload to meet deadlines

Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite

Call center experience (highly preferred)

Self-motivated with a strong work ethic

Comfortable in a fast-moving environment

Ability to multitask and adapt

Positive attitude and willingness to learn

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent required; College education preferred

No previous mortgage industry experience is required

Physical Requirements:

This job requires that you work at a desk, using a computer and headset for as much as 8 hours in a day, entering data and conversing with internal and external clients by phone and computer in a timely manner.
