Gulf Coast Bank is hiring an experienced Teller Operations Supervisor . The Teller Operations Supervisor performs a multifaceted retail banking role, managing day-to-day activities of the banking center at Main with the primary responsibility focusing upon depository and banking operations being efficient and effective. This role is responsible for the development of the banking center staff through formal and informal coaching sessions. This role monitors individual progress according to goals established by management, solicits and identifies potential customers through counter transactions and incoming telephone inquiries, and sells appropriate bank products to fulfill customer needs while assisting the banking center in reaching its growth objectives. Primary Responsibilities: 1. Responsible for the supervision of banking center operations. a.) Ensures operations are conducted in accordance with established Company policies, legal and regulatory requirements, and audit standards. Provides suggestions for improved effectiveness. b.) Ensures branch security. Assists with opening and closing the banking center in accordance with set hours. c.) Ensures the banking center balances all transactions at the close of the day. Proofs Banking Associates and balances the vault and provides assistance to Banking Associates as needed. d.) Assists with Banking Associate functions. Answers basic loan questions, certificates of deposit, and IRAs. Assists in opening new customer accounts. e.) Handles direct deposit functions and safe deposit boxes. f.) Promotes banking center business development and seeks to broaden customer base. Actively cross sells Company products and services. g.) Completes required reports and records and ensures that banking center functions are properly documented. h.) Assists with implementing changes to established policy and procedures within the banking center. 2. Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective coordination and working relations with banking center personnel. a.) Reviews and monitors the work of Banking Associates. Provides suggestions and support as necessary. b.) Responsible for orientation of new employees and staff training sessions. Ensures personnel are well trained in all phases of their respective jobs. Performs cross training as necessary. c.) Determines appropriate staffing levels and scheduling employees. d.) Responsible for tracking individual progress and conducting performance appraisals. Formulates and implements corrective actions as needed. 3. Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective, professional business relations with customers. a.) Ensures customers' requests and questions are promptly and courteously resolved. Answers customers' questions or refers appropriately. Verifies deposits and provides payoff quotes. b.) Ensures customers are informed of Company services, products, and policies. c.) Ensures the Company's professional reputation is maintained. Experience & Skill Requirements: At least 2-5 years of related operations experience or a relevant business role. Must be outgoing and possess a professional and courteous personality. Conflict resolution, listening, oral and written communication, along with supervisory skills are a must. Education Requirements: An Associate degree in finance, economics, business management, or a business-related course is required.
