GENERAL SUMMARY:  Under the general supervision and direction of assigned IT Manager and HR Coordinator, and following prescribed department, office and firm procedures, interns are responsible for completing assigned tasks and projects, following instructions and seeking guidance and advice as needed. Interns are expected to perform all responsibilities with a commitment to providing superior service to the firm’s attorneys, advisors and staff, and maintaining an atmosphere of teamwork and continuous improvement. Above all, the intern must fulfill the needs of the firm in a manner which is consistent with the Firm’s Core Values.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (DUTIES ARE PERFORMED THROUGHOUT EVERY WORK DAY, AS NECESSARY): 

• Follow specific instructions to satisfactorily complete assigned projects and tasks within designated department(s).
• Utilize firm resources to conduct research related to projects and tasks.
• Schedule department meetings, conferences, conference calls and web-based meetings.
• Draft, prepare, and mail various letters, memoranda and forms.
• Assist with set up of audio/visual and other presentation needs in conference rooms.
• Engage with external clients and vendors as necessary to execute assignments.
• Assist with projects as assigned by the Houston IT Manager. IT projects include but are not limited to computer, phone, and printer set-ups and configurations.
• Participate in meetings as requested.
• Organize and maintain firm files, forms, and benefits materials.
• Coordinate with other departments as needed to complete tasks (e.g., coordinate with Office Services to complete document binding project).
• May be asked to attend and support firm functions.

• Ability to read, write and speak English
• Proficiency in Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with individuals at all levels within and outside of the firm
• Ability to work independently and with colleagues located in different offices
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions with high degree of accuracy
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize work, coupled with the ability to work concurrently on a variety of projects and requests, providing a solutions-oriented approach to ensure user satisfaction

EDUCATIONAL/JOB EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: 

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• Some college required
