The position involves numerous responsibilities for the School of Education and reports to the Director. In the School, there are several programs: Montessori, Childhood education including early and middle grades, Secondary, Special Education, Reading and TESOL, and Educational Administration. The purpose of this position is to support these programs through advising potential and enrolled undergraduate and graduate students, maintaining records of students, responsible for placements of MA and AYA students for all major field experiences and student teachers, maintain and develop relationships with area schools, maintain state accreditation, and prepare student files for licensure.

Responsibilities Include: 

• Recruiting and advising potential and new undergraduate and graduate students for teacher licensure and M.Ed. degrees. This includes program orientation and advising. The position involves learning a database system for maintaining student records and using this system to guide students throughout their programs.
• Arranging all major field experiences for licensure students which includes the preparation of documentation for host schools and supervisors.
• Maintaining and developing relationships with area schools including public and private elementary, middle and high schools.
• Maintaining student records and data, assuring that students are meeting program and licensure requirements and supporting national and state accreditation.
• Working with program directors and administrative staff to ensure all requirements are complete for students in licensure and degree programs.
• Acting as liaison with Enrollment Management and Admission to assist in recruiting events.
• Working with program directors to, interview, hire, and supervise field personnel.

Required Qualifications: 

• Master’s degree in Education
• A minimum of 3-5 years of work experience in Education
• Excellent computer skills, including MS Office, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Excellent organizational skills, especially in managing paper and electronic files
• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

• Ability to withstand continuous standing; occasional pushing, pulling, bending and/or stooping; and occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug test and criminal background check.
