    SUMMARY:

    Under the direction of the Director of Nursing Services, supervise the wound care and restorative nursing program and its supervision, coordination, and utilization. Observe or supervise the written assessment of each resident's restorative and wound care needs according to center protocol. Directly supervise and schedule specialized restorative nursing staff.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Determine progress or lack of progress and revise the tasks and goals for residents on restorative programs utilizing the interdisciplinary team and the primary care staff. Conduct regular rounds to evaluate restorative nursing performance of all nursing staff and the daily implementation of restorative techniques to ensure resident needs are being addressed in a proactive manner.
    • Responsible for the coordination of the restorative program and those residents'' receiving services. Ensure the smooth and timely transition and facilitate carryover of the restorative plan of treatment when the resident moves between levels of services (skilled rehabilitation, restorative nursing, nursing care). Schedule restorative programs in coordination with nursing management to ensure charge nurses are aware of CNA workloads as it relates to resident specific programs. Provide input to charge nurses and primary care staff to optimize implementation of programs.
    • Coordinate individual training of nursing associates on resident specific restorative programs. Evaluate staff comprehension and follow-through. Conduct and participate in center education activities. Coordinate training of Nursing Associates regarding restorative principles and techniques.
    • Maintain a working knowledge and ensure compliance with governmental regulations. Adhere to all center policies and procedures.
    • Evaluate the restorative assessments, daily implementation records, and progress notes and coordinate with the DON to ensure compliance with center protocol and government regulations.

    • Maintain professional competence through participation in continuing education programs, seminars, and training programs.
    • Adhere to all Company and departmental policies and procedures.
    • Attend and participate in center in-service programs as required.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Required Experience

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Must hold a current and valid nursing license in the state employed.
    • Completion of post-secondary education and be able to read, write and follow oral and written directions.
    • Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance as required.
    • Must meet all applicable health regulations and pass post-employment exam, if required.
    • Related administrative experience at a level necessary to accomplish this position.
