  • Responsibilities

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    Maintains security and safety of club members and staff and property in assigned area on Club property by patrolling areas on foot and enforcing Club rules and regulations with members and staff.

     

     

    Required Skills

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Patrols assigned areas on foot, checking for fires, vandalism, suspicious activity or persons or safety/fire hazards in and around the Club.
    • Investigates and/or reports hazards, unusual or suspicious circumstances to Club Director and law enforcement as necessary.
    • Checks doors and windows of buildings to ensure they are tightly closed and locked each night.
    • Observes activity and traffic in assigned area to enforce Club rules/regulations; alerts visitors, members and staff of infractions. 
    • Assist with management and coordination of dismissal for members, and ensure that members are leaving with the appropriate adult.
    • Assists any persons in building or on grounds needing directions or information.
    • Escorts people to desired destination when safety of property or persons are a concern.
    • Responds to alarms and dispatched calls; decides what actions to take based on situation, facts known and position limitations.
    • Work with Director on incident report development.
    • Attend community safety meetings as requested.
    • Other related duties as specified by the Club Director.

    Required Experience

    POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

    • High school diploma or GED required.
    • Knowledge of basic security and fire inspection procedures.
    • Skill in both verbal and written communication.
    • Skill in observing situations and decision making.
    • Skill in dealing courteously with public.
    • Experience working with children and youth, knowledge of youth development principles.
    • Experience working within outreach, public safety, or the equivalent fields preferred.
    • Experience in customer service/relations and/or recreation a plus.
    • Must be or become CPR / FA certified.
    • Flexibility to work clubhouse hours as seasons and service needs change.
