    LOCATION: WARNER ROBINS, GA

    DESCRIPTION:

    The Environmental and Safety Compliance Specialist is responsible for planning, directing, and managing the environmental, safety and health programs under senior management direction in support of a Hazardous Materials contract with Defense Logistics Agency. The work will be performed on-site at Warner Robins Air Logistics Complex and at a Patricio Enterprises Warehouse Facility.

     

    PRIMARY DUTIES WILL INCLUDE (BUT NOT LIMITED TO):

    • Evaluate inspection results, develop corrective action plans as needed, and make recommendations as necessary for maintaining compliance with regulatory agencies. Develop and update an Environmental, Safety and Occupational Health Plan for the contract.
    • Serve as the SME for ESOH planning, execution and compliance on behalf of the company for the contract.
    • Develop the overarching approach for compliance to all federal, state, DLA and local environmental, safety, and health laws and regulations.
    • Develop and conduct training for the workforce on all environmental, safety and health topics.
    • Conduct analysis, observations and surveillances of the operation and worksite to ensure compliance.
    • Develop and submit all required reporting such as daily, weekly and monthly updates for the corporate office and the Client.
    • Develop and implement a safety training program for Employees commensurate with the type of work being performed with periodic refresher training.
    • Conduct an investigation with recommended corrective actions in the event of any accidents, incidents or injuries.
    • Responsible for recording incidents and occurrences for OSHA reporting.
    • Evaluate and determine the types of personal protective equipment needed in conjunction with the work and type of product.
    • Develop a HAZCOM plan, including Spill and Accidental Release policies, for the contract.
    • Generate reporting using EESOH-MIS.
    • Participate in environmental programs, internal and external audits, inspections and regulatory assessments as required by the Client.
    • Establish a Hazard Reporting Program IAW DLA Instruction 6055.1.
    • Develop a Site Specific Spill Contingency Plan (SSSCP) for implementation.

     

    EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

    • Bachelor's degree in Safety, Environment, Environmental Sciences, Engineering, Chemistry or an applied science field or demonstrated equivalent with a minimum of five years’ experience in the field of Chemical Management Services (CMS) and environmental and safety program management.

    • Alternate/Tradeoff Requirement: The candidate will possess HS Diploma or equivalent with ten (10) years of experience in the field of Chemical Management Services (CMS) and environmental and safety program management.

    • CSP or CHMM Certification is preferred.

    • Minimum of three years’ experience using a Hazardous Material Tracking System equivalent to EESOH-MIS.

    • Must be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the environmental and safety compliance fields.

    • Experience in the development of all required plans, training programs and associated reporting.

    • Must be able to work independently.  

    • Must be detail oriented and organized.  

    • Expert ability to research, analyze, and evaluated information. 

    • Expert ability to express ideas effectively orally and in writing.  

    • Expertise in leading and managing other employees.  

    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Minimum of a four (4) year degree or equivalent experience in sales and marketing required.
    • Minimum of five (5) years'' experience in health care sales/marketing/insurance, with a basic understanding of sales and marketing processes preferred.
    • One (1) year of management experience required, with two (2) years'' preferred.
    • Must be able to travel on day trips to local healthcare institutions.
    • Must be familiar with medical terminology or be able to learn it.
    • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
