POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Director of Social and Volunteer Services, the Volunteer Recruiter is responsible for increasing volunteer services to patients, families, and the agency by recruitment and relationship building activities with individuals and community partners with a goal toward increasing the number of available volunteers agency-wide whose values align with the values and vision of GHS. The Volunteer Recruiter will work with other Volunteer Department staff to assure the smooth running and success of the Volunteer Department.
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:
2-3 years experience in marketing, public speaking, recruiting, and/or volunteer services; Associate’s degree in Social Sciences or business fields preferred or equivalent combination of experience and education
Knowledge of Hospice, Home Health, and Palliative Care preferred
Knowledge of recruitment strategies and approaches that aim to attract and retain prospective volunteers
Ability to network and develop professional relationships and volunteer referral sources throughout the community
Must be proficient in a variety of computer software applications targeted to volunteer opportunities (VolunteerMatch, Volunteer Florida, AARP, etc.)
Must have reliable transportation to perform tasks and responsibilities in a timely and appropriate fashion. Must be able to provide proof of automobile insurance and have a valid Florida driver’s license, a copy of which will be placed in their employee file
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Promote GHS through contact/network activities with professional and service organizations, community development entities and activities, schools/universities, and other businesses appropriate to volunteer recruitment
Develop and maintain effective relationships and communication to facilitate volunteer referrals and programming that enhances services provided by the agency and bring potential volunteers to onboarding and training
Maintain an active recruitment plan as well as an accurate volunteer database; provide appropriate documentation of recruitment activities in a timely and consistent manner
Complete volunteer and other requested secondary reports in a timely manner
Assist with onboarding/training and coordination of volunteers in various functions when requested
Participate in agency fundraising/recruitment events, departmental meetings, and other tasks and projects as needed; perform other duties as assigned
Assist in the coordination and organization of all volunteer recognition events
Assist in the development and evaluation of all volunteer retention activities
Ensure compliance with all volunteer recruitment documentation standards
Ensure and assist in maintaining compliance with regulatory and certifying bodies (Medicare, AHCA, Joint Commission)
Assist in the implementation and maintenance of the policies and procedures of the Agency and the Volunteer Department; adhere to and assist in the evaluation of the same
Promote and assist in initiatives to develop and strengthen relationships with care facility partners
Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and/or weekend as needed or requested
