Internship - Retail Management
POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Thrift Shoppe & Volunteer Manager, the Retail Management Intern is responsible for assisting the Thrift Shoppe & Volunteer Manager in the day-to-day thrift shoppe operational functions. This position requires a strong attention to detail and excellent customer service skills.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Requires a high school diploma or GED
Strong desire to learn along with a professional drive to succeed.
Standard comprehension of numeracy, including experience with cash register systems.
Proficient communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work within productivity guidelines.
Strong time-management skills.
Experience using Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook and Excel
Experience using Adobe Pro
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists with all areas of backroom operations including: receiving customer donations, processing merchandise onto the sales floor, and pricing
Assists with merchandising, including staging front window displays and rotating inventory on sales floor
Provides clerical support to management when needed; such as tracking volunteer hours, updating staff schedule calendar, and submitting invoices for payment
Ability to interact with customers in a professional manner and assist with any questions
Assists with the loading and unloading of merchandise from vehicles
Maintains store security, safety, and loss prevention guidelines
Assists on special projects and tasks as assigned
