We are seeking a HR Generalist/Benefits to join our team! The HR Generalist/Benefits primary function is to assist employees with benefits enrollment, including insurance, FMLA, 401k, and tuition reimbursement. In all, this individual is responsible for administration of the day-to-day operations of Human Resources office. Main duties include but are not limited to administering 401k/FMLA/Benefits, counseling, database entry and filing and working on audits. CANDIDATE MUST HAVE A STRONG BENEFITS ADMINISTRATION BACKGROUND.
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Manages and handles all tasks involved with the employee benefits plan including Health Insurance, Dental Insurance, Life Insurance, Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability, Retirement, and other benefits as needed. Including monthly new employee enrollments and annual Open Enrollment for all employees.
- Uploads the Union employee data into the Funds website monthly.
- Follows through with all unemployment claims by checking the FL DOE website weekly and submitting information on all cases; Take part in providing documentation and handle court hearings when necessary.
- Assists with loading data into ADP, completing employee files as required by State regulations, and file and providing all required legal notices and disclosures appropriate for the particular department/position.
- Enter, process, and file all paperwork on a daily or weekly basis at minimum.
- Assist HR Generalist with running e-verifies as required by law and in the time frame as required.
- Verifying all original IDs for Form I9; Auditing and requesting new IDs if required prior to expiration date; Use appropriate legal action should an employee’s work authorization expire.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, county, and city regulations concerning employment.
- Monitors compliance training requirements to ensure that employees complete assigned training including but not limited to Responsible Gaming and AML courses.
- Assists in developing organizational strategies by identifying and researching human resources issues; contributing information, analysis, and recommendations to strategic thinking and direction; and supporting human resources objectives in line with organizational objectives.
- Assist employees and applicants with human resources information and interpretation of company policies, procedures, systems, and processes.
- Administers company 401K Plan including personally handling all documentation for required disclosures, enrollments, terminations, changes in address, beneficiaries contribution rates, and loans; Meets with employees to explain the plan and assist with enrollments.
- Coordinates with H&S Director for all Workers Compensation injury claims.
- Handles all leaves of absence and FMLA administration, including legal paperwork such as Designation notices.
- May be involved in holding meetings with employees and managers for disciplinary and other issues.
- Conducts annual audit and renewal of Professional Licenses including contacting employees to turn in the necessary documentation such as forms and tax returns.
- Assists with submission of records for annual audits, including State audit of employee records, ERISA/401k ND testing, ACA Forms 1094c & 1095c, DBPR, Workers Comp plus others.

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIREMENTS:
- 3-5 years Human Resources experience preferred. Ideal experience would include Generalist duties and benefits responsibilities.
- BS in human resources or a similar field or equivalent education and experience
- MUST BE FLUENT IN BOTH ENGLISH AND SPANISH AND ABLE TO TRANSLATE DOCUMENTS IN BOTH LANGUAGES VERY WELL.
- Knowledge of Federal and Florida employment laws including ERISA, FMLA, ADA, DOL (especially wage & hour laws).
- Prior Employee and/or Labor Relations experience preferred.
- PHR certification or willingness to acquire it within first year on the job.
- Expert skill set levels in Microsoft Word and Excel are critical.
- Excellent analytical, mathematical and organizational skills required
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization, individually and in groups.
- Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict and mediate as needed.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and balance numerous priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
- Ability to work independently and to deal with ambiguity is critical.
- Ability to coach and counsel various levels of employees
- Must use discretion when working with confidential information.
- Ability to acquire and maintain a Florida Gaming (Slot) License
