Job title : Sourcing Coordinator – Mandarin Speaking

Reports to : Sourcing Manager

Supervisory responsibilities : No

Summary/objective : Guo Ji Tooling Systems (GTS) is the international arm of Tooling Systems Group, a leading supplier of automotive stamping dies, molds, and automation assembly equipment. GTS looking for a Mandarin speaking sourcing coordinator to assist with our growing outsource machining business.

Essential functions:

• Responsible for sourcing machined metal components for the automotive/home appliance/medical industries and other areas of manufacturing
• Request RFQs and negotiate for best value
• Manage purchase orders for accuracy, delivery date, and expedite accordingly
• Liaison between the customer and supplier to resolve engineering and manufacturing questions.
• Develop and manage open issues log, documenting all open issues between end customer and third party suppliers.
• Keep project personnel informed and on task. Initiate daily communication with task managers (design leaders, build leaders, tryout leaders, plant managers, sales, etc.) regarding their project needs/customer needs and ongoing program status.
• Pursue necessary information to keep all activities moving – not waiting for information.
• Keep management and customers informed on job completion status, problems with timing, and provide input as to solutions to delivery problems.
• Verify receipt of items by comparing items received to items ordered and resolves shipments in error with suppliers
• Set up trucking for delivery of our products
• Willingness to participate in and independently initiate sales calls
• Identify, evaluate, select & qualify new suppliers when needed.
• Work with suppliers to identify & implement cost reduction opportunities or total cost improvements.
• Advise accounting of the invoicing status.

Required competency, education, and experience:

• Mandarin communication skills—phone and email
• Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
• Must be very detail oriented
• Professional, hands-on, take-initiative attitude
• Ability to develop solid, effective technical relationships with contract manufacturers
• Must have an analytical aptitude and strong attention to detail
• Team player who also works well with minimum supervision
• Strong Excel and Microsoft Office computer skills

Preferred education and experience :

• Previous machine operation or CNC programming experience
• Experience in the automotive industry (preferably in tool and die)
• CAD software experience (CATIA, Unigraphics)

Work environment : Office setting in a manufacturing environment.

Physical demands :

• Sit for long periods of time.
• See details of objects that are less than a few feet away.
• Understand the speech of another person.
• Speak clearly so listeners can understand.
• Use fingers to grasp, move, or assemble very small objects.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds

Position type and expected hours of work : Full time. Some overtime may be required as needed.

Travel : None typically. 0 - 1% potential travel associated with role as needed.

• Travel may require: International, Air travel, Overnight stay for several nights.
