      POSITION: NETWORK ENGINEER-IT MANAGER Gurstel Law Firm P.C. is currently looking to hire a Network Engineer/IT Manager in our Golden Valley, MN Office. As a technology leader, you will be a key member of the firm’s IT team and will be expected to strike a balance of delivering new capabilities and product offerings, while ensuring availability and performance of our infrastructure. This is an exciting role at an exciting time in the growth of our team, and to be successful, you should have a strong understanding of networking, storage and systems architecture, infrastructure operations, and have a track record of technical project execution. JOB DESCRIPTION: The Network Engineer – IT Manager is a results-driven individual with experience in the Information Technology field. This individual is responsible for maintaining a reliable, secure, and efficient network system both on premise and in cloud. This position maintains the organization’s standard hardware and software configurations, develops automation tools to manage all software and hardware for network servers and customers, and administers packages, including commercial off the shelf (COTS) and custom applications. This individual is responsible for managing an IT Team comprising of, Systems Administrators, Help Desk Technicians, 3RD Party Technology Vendors. This position is responsible for the overall systems health, uptime, performance and reporting of all systems and applications and responsible for performing a variety of tasks including but not limited to: 

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES •    Build, manage and maintain a complex virtualized network across multiple states and time zones, with a mixture of on prem and in cloud systems and applications. •    Build, lead, develop and mentor the IT team distributed across multiple locations, time zones and disciplines •    Management and administration of multiple IT Functions •    Complete assigned, complex, or long-term projects within budgetary, and scheduling guidelines •    Coordinate work activities with Management •    Administration, management, performance tuning, backup and recovery of all network and applications. •    Complete assigned, complex or long-term projects within budgetary, and scheduling guidelines •    Look for opportunities to simplify the designs, operations, and deployment plans; reduce complexity while providing performance, agility, and scalability •    Maintains quality of service by establishing and enforcing organization standards. •    Maintain a near 100% network uptime across all critical systems and applications. •    Obtain a general overview of all other departments within the Firm and be able to function/communicate effectively within the departments and provide business analysis. •    Preserves assets by implementing disaster recovery and back-up procedures and information security and control structures •    Managers third-party vendors related to Information Systems and Technologies •    Reviews contracts and pricing for cost reduction of third-party vendors related to Information Systems and Technologies •    Maintains network infrastructure technologies, security, protocols and standards •    Maintains network system and all forms of network storage •    Manage an enforce industry leading data security and retention practices •    Communicate all relevant IT events and issues with appropriate staff regularly and efficiently •    Other duties as assigned

    QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS •    Bachelor's degree or higher level of education in (Information Systems, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration or related) is a must •    4 + years of IT Management •    4+ years of IT project management experience •    4+ years of Network Engineering experience •    4+ years of Virtualization experience •    4+ years network performance tuning •    Hands-on experience with implementation, design, monitoring, and troubleshooting in large scale distributed systems and networks •    Experience and understanding of how to drive effectiveness and efficiency through automation and infrastructure-as-code •    Sharp assessment skills with the ability to decipher “wants” versus “needs” and comfortable negotiating prioritization accordingly •    Experience driving project teams, identifying milestones and tracking deliverables •    Self-organize and experience driving cross-functional efforts with external teams •    See a problem or opportunity, take ownership and act on it independently ASSETS •    Experience working with Mitel and telephone integration with call recording and •    other 3rd party applications are a plus •    Law Firm experience is a plus •    Claims Platform experience is a plus •    Experience with Commercial Legal Software is a plus COMPETENCIES •    Communications and Strong Proficiency in Structure Creation •    Thoroughness on Work Product •    Business Acumen •    Excellent Collaboration Skills •    Strong Moral and Ethical Conduct

    TRAVEL- This position requires up to 10% travel. Travel excludes local intra-office commute.
