Please check out our website to find out more about us at www.gurtzelectric.com Job Description: The Payroll Clerk is responsible for processing and maintaining the company's payroll, union reporting and benefit programs (health insurance, union benefits and other related programs). Salary offered: 50,000 Hours and Benefits: Monday through Friday 8am - 4:30pm The company offers signing bonus, vacation, personal/sick time, health insurance (premiums paid in full by the employer) and 401k. Duties and Responsibilities: Processing, reviewing, maintaining weekly payroll for office and field personnel in Illinois and Wisconsin Reviewing, entering time cards for union personnel and ensuring the correctness of the local union id and union deductions/fringes Ensuring proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, and other Working with the time keeping platform to review and ensure correctness of hours entered, export data from the platform to the payroll system Ensure time off is being approved and entered according to company policy Balance weekly payroll and review for correctness Record and process federal and state payroll tax deposits Process and maintain new hire paperwork Maintain employee benefits files, maintain group benefits database and update employee payroll records Prepare monthly union reports for Illinois and Wisconsin Electrical Local Unions. Maintain and update union files for raises and changes in fringe benefits Ensure compliance with applicable government regulations and union agreements Processing and maintaining of employee expenses Processing of VOEs, child support orders, wage assignments etc. Create files and archives for all payroll and related tasks Maintain electronic and paper files/records Processing of year end Performance of other duties as assigned Requirements: Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to use Microsoft Office Ability to learn and use new accounting software/time keeping software as necessary Excellent communication skills, verbal and written Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail Ability to maintain sensitive information in a confidential, timely, and professional manner Being able to multitask and meet deadlines
