    A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN MIGHT INCLUDE

    • Using your knowledge of pumps, valves, motors and drives to troubleshoot and diagnose problems
    • Working with high voltage (480) three phase electrical systems
    • Performing preventative maintenance on industrial manufacturing equipment
    • Being attentive to potential safety hazards and making appropriate repairs to maintain OSHA compliance and keeping work areas clean and orderly while applying 5S techniques
    • Ensuring downtime is minimized through effective troubleshooting, diagnosis and repair of machinery
    •  Assisting in the design, installation, and updating of new or existing equipment
    • Identifying the cause of downtime and finding solutions to prevent reoccurrence
    • Conferring with production staff to solve maintenance issues as necessary and actively communicating with other maintenance staff to ensure a smooth workflow

    YOU'LL BE A GREAT FIT IF… You have education or at least five years of experience and versatile ability mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, or automation systems. Are self-motivated and able to work without direct supervision.

    • Can complete building maintenance tasks such as but not limited to plumbing, electrical (high voltage 480 3 phase), HVAC and conveyor systems
    • Aptitude in using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring and testing instruments
    • Experience in weekly preventative maintenance assignments such as lubrication schedules and the ability to multitask and prioritize
    • Ability to maintain trucks and material handling equipment
    • An interest in process improvement and efficiency gains
    • Great computer skills (Microsoft Office) and CMMS systems

    OTHER AREAS OF KNOWLEDGE THAT WILL BE HELPFUL… The ability to read blueprints and schematics, an advanced knowledge of customary tools and test equipment, and experience in food and drug safety.

The employee is required to use a ladder to reach high areas for performing work. The employee may occasionally encounter uneven and/or slippery surfaces when in warehouse.

    Specific vision abilities required by this job includes close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

    Acute hearing is necessary for telephone and in-person communication with customers and fellow employees, and visual acuity sufficient to read a computer screen and paper documents.

    Working Conditions

    This position typically functions in a plant environment with some exterior building and grounds related work. Hot and cold conditions may exist depending on external weather conditions. There will be exposure to various cleaning chemicals, equipment lubricants, and wet and dusty conditions in the plant.
