    Gyppo Ale Mill (gyppo.com) in Shelter Cove, CA is seeking a General Manager to come work with our team.

    Gyppo Ale Mill is a brewery, taproom, and family-friendly restaurant located on the edge of the airport and is adjacent to the waterfront, making this a central location.

    Onsite we have a ten-barrel brewhouse and four ten-barrel fermenters. Our head brewer keeps our twelve taps rotating through an array of styles of beers as well as some staples, such as Mexican Lager and Beach Beer.

    Our menu is a from-scratch kitchen that utilizes the bounty of local ingredients surrounding us. Our fish comes from the Shelter Cove Fishing Fleet, supporting our local fisherman. Our vegetables are sourced from the Briceland Forest Farm. Briceland Forest farm is a small multi-generation market farm and homestead in the hills of Southern Humboldt County.

    The ideal candidate has a guest-first mentality, great leadership skills, and a passion for hospitality. You are skilled at maintaining a calm demeanor under pressure, value teamwork, and work well with others. You lead by example.

    Position:

    • General Manager

    Compensation:

    • Salary (commensurate with experience)

    Experience:

    • 2+ years previous restaurant management experience
    • P & L management (maintaining food costs, maximizing profitability)
    • Ordering & receiving, inventory
    • Food safety knowledge (certification preferred)
    • Staff education, training, and motivation
    • Staff scheduling
    • Payroll
    • Enforcing policies and procedures
    • Managing >20

    Job Scope BOH :

    • Create, implement and oversee daily and weekly station checklist for cleaning and prep
    • Monitor daily staff meal creation and rotation
    • Provide accountability for said job duties and responsibilities and report to owner weekly
    • Ensure BOH staff has proper certification
      Provide a safe work environment for employees ensuring that techniques and tools are being properly used
    • Monitor kitchen operations to assure proper workflow and equipment use

    Job scope FOH:

    • Train, coach, and guide team members
    • Manage the team’s appearance and performance
    • Manage the shift to ensure the lowest possible wait times and amazing hospitality while driving sales, and upholding quality standards
    • Manage shift labor to ensure proper staff utilization and overall labor efficiency during the shift
    • Manage and ensure that all cash handling, reconciliation, and credit card procedures are followed on the shift to ensure the safe-keeping of our employees and the security of all cash and credit card transactions.
    • Address time-clock issues on the shift
    • Lead the team through a smooth and clean closing process.
    • Follow all cash-out procedures at end of shift
