H&A Barrel Management is seeking a highly motivated Sales Associate who shares our energy and enthusiasm for exceeding client expectations. This role will focus on new business development and managing an existing portfolio of winery clients. The Sales Associate will report directly to the Sales Director. The position is full-time and based in Sonoma, CA.
REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION INCLUDE:
1. Meet or exceed new business sales goals through prospection and business development.
2. Manage client portfolio in operational barrel management.
3. Sell used barrel inventory to the secondary market.
4. Strong work ethic, relationship-building skills, and a proven track record of success.
5. Ability and willingness to travel, daily driving required.
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
- 3+ years of wine industry sales experience, ideally with winemakers and decision-makers.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a high level of integrity.
- Excellent presentation skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to multi-task and re-prioritize with a positive attitude.
- Resourceful, highly motivated, and dynamic.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook.
- Microsoft Dynamics experience is a plus.
- Fluency in French is a plus but not mandatory.
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT RESPONSIBILITIES
- Successfully book appointments with winery prospects on a weekly basis.
- Effectively present customized barrel management solutions to prospects on a regular basis.
- Maintain information in CRM/ ERP with contact information and sales pipeline information for company forecasting.
- Attend trade shows and set up market visits on a regular basis.
ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage contract renewal cycle for a portfolio of clients.
- Communicate with existing clients at key stages of the contract process to ensure accuracy in company forecasting.
- Maintain organizational system to track status of contracts.
- Coordinate used barrel removals with client and internal teams.
- Reconcile used barrel removals and update inventory as needed.
- Set up meetings with clients as needed.
USED BARREL SALES RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prospect and grow used barrel client portfolio.
- Sell used wine barrels to the secondary market including wineries, breweries, and brokers.
- Communicate internally and externally to meet customer expectations on quality and delivery timeline.
