PURPOSE:
Ensures highest quality of product through inspection and repair in compliance with product handling and customer service standards in a safe, accurate, and efficient manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES;
- Perform Essential Repairs on casegoods and upholstery: repair crushed corners, burn-in dents and gouges; strip, sand and refinish tops; cut replacement glass and mirror plate; and install factory replacement tops; upholstered panels, springs, and mechanisms, rebuild upholstered frames, blind stitch fabric, repair leather scuffs and cuts.
- Inspect, evaluate, and repair of merchandise.
- Practice safe and secure material handling methods in accordance with product handling standards.
- Report errors found on documents to supervisor.
- Complete all documentation neatly and accurately.
- Operate manual and mechanical equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- *Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Excellent verbal and written communication, and listening skills.
- Basic reading and comprehension skills.
- Basic numerical reasoning skills.
- Ability to complete paperwork in an accurate, neat and efficient manner.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Knowledge of GERS and Warehouse Management systems preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to bend, stoop, reach, stand , push, pull and lift cartons weighing approximately 50 – 100+ lbs. repetitively.
Required Experience
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of one year furniture technician experience.
