    FILM AND VIDEO EDITOR, JUNIOR

    The position will provide support to the Corporate Customer Support Department (CCSD), Naval Air Warfare Center, Weapons Division (NAWC, WD) located in China Lake, CA; Pt Mugu, CA; San Nicholas Island; and surrounding Government Coastal areas. The Corporate Customer Support Department (CCSD) provides essential support to the scientific, technical, and administrative communities of NAVAIR.

    The successful Film and Video Editor will edit moving images on film, video, or other media in support of the Science and Technology community, Command, management, and warfighter community. 

     

    The incumbent will work independently as well as part of a team in support of the standard operating procedures for the technical communication group, often working directly with a more senior position in the organization of and preparation of images.

     

    Working with technical communication group, the Film and Video Editor will support the multiple aspects of film and video achieving, to include compile, catalog, and/or edit various items to include film, video documentation and productions for final production.

     

    The Film and Video Editor, will edit or synchronize soundtrack with images; edit, and format audio documentation into an easy-to-use and read layout for various technical communication products; and document metadata in preparation for archiving. 

    Required Skills

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

     

    • Must possess all skills necessary to ensure that employees provide customer service in accordance with the terms and conditions of the contract.

    • Must possess demonstrated knowledge and experience required of a film and video editor.

    • Resume should address prior assignments detailing specific projects working with editing film and video. techniques

    • Ability to keep up with latest techniques and technologies for use in day to day operations.

    • Must be fluent in the English language and able to communicate complicated concepts to an English-speaking only audience, both orally and written.

    • Ability to work within the MSOffice suite to include Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel.

    • Ability to possess or obtain/maintain a minimum a SECRET clearance.

    •    Knowledge of the NAWC WD organizational structure helpful.

     

     

    EXPERIENCE: Junior level. A junior level person within a labor category has less than 3 years’ experience and a BA/BS degree. A junior level person is responsible for assisting a more senior position and or performing functions and duties under the oversight of a more senior position.

     

    EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION SUBSTITUTION: Bachelor’s Degree – 6 years additional experience may be substitute for a Bachelor’s Degree. Associates Degree plus four years additional experience may be substituted for Bachelor’s Degree.
