    Production Operator II

    JOB DESCRIPTION: 

    Reporting to the Shift Manager, the selected candidate will be responsible for operation of the full life cycle of extrusion line production. The responsibilities include performing a variety of equipment setups, including assembly, cleaning in cooperation with maintenance engineering, including dismantling and re-assembling the extruder, screw, screen changer/filter, melt pump adapters and die, and ancillary equipment. You will also be responsible for helping to maintain a safe and compliant workplace. The Operator is responsible for fabrication of the extruded products in accordance with customer specifications, maintaining production and inspection records and ensuring proper product packaging and labeling. The Operator will be required to interface with customers and inspectors as deemed necessary during inspection audits. The Operator is further responsible for maintaining a safe, client-presentable work area, and supervising and monitoring the work of more junior level operators.

     

    Starting wage is $22+/hour. Additional promotional opportunities for Operator 3 and Lead Operator levels.

THIS POSITION MAY ALSO QUALIFY FOR MEDICAL REIMBURSEMENT DEPENDING ON THE EMPLOYEE’S ANNUAL BASE SALARY. IF QUALIFIED, H.B. FULLER WILL PAY UP TO 100% OF THE EMPLOYEE’S MEDICAL PREMIUM. All employees also qualify for an annual cash bonus, based on business performance. Annual raises are rewarded based on company and individual performance.

     

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:   

    • High school diploma or GED equivalent.   

    • One or more years of experience as an extruder operator, including setup experience and working with automated equipment 

    • Strong math, English, reading and writing skills 

    • Organizational skill for record keeping and filing  

    • Able to use a Digital Balance 

    • Must have the ability to be trained and licensed to operate a forklift 

    • You are required to stand for long periods of time, walk, climb stairs, use hands to remove or lift boxes, stretch and reach with arms extended and stoop.   Employees regularly lift up to 70 pounds and must be able to work with powdered and liquid chemicals in a safe and orderly fashion. 

    • Must be able to work the required hours for this role which are 12 hour shifts from 6:00am - 6:30pm or 6:00pm - 6:30am. This is a 24/7 manufacturing facility and this role will be scheduled every other weekend (Saturday, Sunday, and Monday). This position follows a non-rotating Pitman Shift Schedule and will work four 12 hour shifts one week of the pay period, and three 12 hour shifts the second week of the pay period.   WE ARE HIRING FOR BOTH DAY AND NIGHT SHIFTS. SHIFTS DO NOT ROTATE BETWEEN NIGHT AND DAY.

     

     

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:  

    • Chemical/Industrial plant experience  
    • SAP experience

     KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

    • Have working knowledge of AF123-110, 23-101 and 25-101.

    • Block III, Equipment Management.

    • Have knowledge of hazardous deck papers

    • Have knowledge of pallet build up

    • Must have hazardous material management experience

    • Must possess strong organizational skills with an attention to detail and follow up

    • Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

    • Must be customer service oriented

    • Must have excellent verbal and writing skills; be skilled and proficient with Microsoft programs such as Excel, Word, and Power Point

    • Considerable knowledge with USAF supply chain operations including property, material and logistics.

    • Demonstrated comprehension of the following; property/material management functions: Property Management, Receiving, Identification, Utilization, Consumption, Physical Inventory Movement, Storage, Reports, Records, Disposition and Contract Closeout

    • Must have an understanding of USAF material and property inventory procedures

    • Must be able to reconcile inventory results and create an inventory report

    • Must be able to identify various USAF items of property by sight

    • Must be able to approach problems in a logical manner and solve them with available resources

    • Ability to communicate orally and in writing

    • Well versed in DoD Service Component Logistics and Material Management concept of operations
