    RMS WILL BE PERFORMING BASE OPERATION SUPPORT (BOS-1) TO THE UNITED STATES ARMED FORCES AT AHMAD AL JABER AIR BASE (AJAB) IN KUWAIT, AS PART OF THE AFCAP IV CONTRACT.

    TITLE: FUELS SPECIALIST

    Provide Aircraft Fueling Support Services. Services may be provided on a 24/7 basis.  Duties include:

    • Assists in executing of Aircraft Refueling Services duties.
    • Perform specified arrival and departure refueling services and tasks in accordance with applicable technical orders, publications, checklists and forms.
    • Ensure work and restroom facilities present a neat and clean appearance.
    • Ensure an effective tool control program is established and maintained.
    • Ensure Aircraft parking and work area(s) are free of Foreign Objects (Damage) (FOD).
    • Ensure all required technical orders, publications, checklists and forms are maintained as applicable.
    • Complete all aircraft, vehicle, maintenance, training and other forms/documents required as part of an effective Aircraft Fuels Services program.
    • Perform Aircraft Fueling Support Services on a 24/7/365 basis, as required. These services are critical to the flying mission.
    • Safely operate standard and specialized vehicles and equipment to perform standard Aircraft Fueling Services on a wide variety of US, Coalition and Civilian fleet aircraft.
    • Follow a comprehensive Safety program.
    • Follow a comprehensive and properly documented Aircraft Fuel Services training program.
    • Comply with contractor’s work requirements, to include scheduling, work performance, worker supervision and quality control.
    • Meet with the government’s quality assurance person and other government personnel, as directed.
    • Properly use and safeguard all government property provided for contractor use (e.g., to include government facilities, equipment and tools.)
    • Perform work in austere location with extreme hot and cold weather conditions.
    • Monitor subcontractors used to provide direct support in meeting the contract requirements, as directed.
    • Follow company policies; to include accurate time keeping and reporting; safety, property and quality control.
    • Performs other related duties as required.

    KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

    • Must have excellent verbal and writing skills; be familiar with Microsoft programs such as Excel, Word, and Power Point.
    • Candidates must be physically able and willing to work long hours to meet mission and contract requirements.
    • Possess the technical expertise and knowledge to fuel and service aircraft.
    • Possess Air Force Specialty Code (AFSC) 2FOX1 or equivalent qualifications and certifications.

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: (or equivalent)

    • High School Diploma or equivalent.
    • The Fuels Specialist must have a minimum of three years of documented experience working in an aircraft fuels services support environment.
    • Possess the technical expertise and knowledge to fuel and service aircraft.
    • Previous military experience operating in a contingency environment is strongly preferred.
    • Knowledge and experience working with government contracts is desired.

      

    LICENSE & CERTIFICATIONS:

    • Must be able to pass employment and deployment qualification requirements that include medical, drug testing, and background checks, etc.
    • Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a U.S. Passport.
    • Must have valid U.S. Driver’s License.
    • Must be able to pass a flight line access test and obtain a flight line access badge

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:  

    Aircraft Operations. Operates specialized fueling vehicles and various aerospace ground equipment (AGE) used to refuel aircraft. Workers will work on and adjacent to active flightline operations and may be exposed to hazardous noise; must wear hearing protection. Other personal protective equipment (PPE) will be worn to avoid skin and eye contact with fuels; may include splash, face, eye and hand PPE. Workers may be required to push, pull, and lift heavy equipment; up to fifty pounds. Each employee is responsible for understanding and practicing appropriate safety procedures.

    1. Works on and near various types of fixed wing and rotary aircraft on the flight line.

    2. Must be prepared to function in a wartime environment to support U.S. interests.

    3. Must be able to operate, move, equipment such as refueling vehicles and operate hydrant fueling systems.

    4. Must be able to communicate in English, and able to use portable or vehicle equipped radios to maintain radio contact with flightline operators.

     

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

    • Ability to lift/carry 50 pounds; bend, stoop, work safely around equipment/materials/supplies/cargo
    • Live and work in austere conditions to include, rain, snow, heat and extreme weather conditions
    • Work long hours, exposure to the elements and hazardous conditions

    TRAVEL: Ability to travel internationally. 100% Overseas assignment

    SECURITY CLEARANCE: Must have and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.
