PROCESS ENGINEER INTERN

The Process Engineer Intern reports to the Plant Manager. The intern will complete process documentation including JSA and time study/standard work. The benefits are standardization of processes and identifying waste. Specifically working in our Chemicals area.

DESCRIPTION:

• Provides support to more staff & operations personnel in Process documentation, product scale-ups, process improvement, and technology development.
• Conducts routine chemical engineering calculations in unit operations analysis in support of adhesives manufacture and process development; assists higher level engineers by performing assigned phases of work in more complex engineering problems.
• Has the ability to analyze and interpret data; should be able to propose hypotheses as explanations of phenomena, and design experimental studies to test (disprove) these hypotheses.
• Will lead by example in the areas of safety improvement and the application of quality measures.

REQUIREMENTS: 

• Currently pursuing Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Chemical Engineering to be completed between December 2021 – June 2023
• Must have completed Sophomore year of program and coursework
• Well versed in the use of software including Microsoft Office, CAD.
• Knowledge in general factory and warehouse safety preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Intern will work from a typical cubical workstation within the Process Engineering department along with a manufacturing plant environment exposed to ambient temperatures, processing equipment and powered industrial vehicle traffic. Intern will be required to sit, stand and walk for extended portions of the workday.
