Job Description

WILSON ENTERPRISES INC., AN H&R BLOCK COMPANY, is seeking an EXPERIENCED TAX PREPARER with extensive knowledge of taxation policies and income tax procedures with the ability to determine clients’ needs and knowledge of appropriate products or services to meet those needs. Will be responsible for completing accurate tax returns in a timely manner for individuals and companies with diverse tax needs in accordance with policies and in compliance with legislation and regulations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Conduct face-to-face interviews with clients and educate clients on strategies for minimizing tax liabilities.

• Prepare annual federal, state and local tax returns for both individuals and businesses.

• Supply detailed documentation needed to submit accurate returns.

• Review financial statements and tax audits to correct discrepancies.

• Provide IRS and audit support.

• Handle customer inquiries and issues.

• Generate business growth, increase client retention and offer additional products and services.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting preferred. A minimum of an Associates Degree in Business or relevant field.

• Experience with accounting, finance, bookkeeping or tax practices.

• Prior experience completing individual returns. Experience completing complex returns (individual, trust, partnership) a plus.

• Proficiency in tax planning and audit support.

• Highly developed customer service, verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong time management skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.

• Keen attention to detail with demonstrated ability to identify errors and solve complex problems.

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment* or equivalent

• Must complete 18-hour continuing education requirement and meet all other IRS and applicable state requirements
