    The historic Comus Inn of Dickerson, Maryland is seeking passionate, professional Restaurant Managers to join the re-opening team for Spring 2024!

    From the founders of Chez Billy Sud, Cafe Colline, Blackfinn Ameripub, and Vanish Farmwoods Brewery, the new Comus Inn brings classic, comfortable tavern fare and a warm & welcoming atmosphere to the foot of Sugarloaf Mountain.

    Built in the early 1860s and added to the National Historic Registry in 2003, our beautiful farmhouse restaurant sits on more than five acres of land amidst the picturesque Montgomery County agricultural reserve, providing a stunning backdrop for lunch, brunch, dinner & private gatherings. As members of our leadership team, our Restaurant Managers will:

    oversee daily lunch, brunch & dinner service in the main dining room;

    add their voice to our training materials, our service standards, our menus, and our operating systems;

    recruit, hire & train members of the hourly front-of-house restaurant team;

    represent our Partners proudly as the public face of the Comus Inn;

    schedule, coach & develop the service staff;

    drive sales & restaurant profitability by understanding & adhering to best practices as established by the Partners and the General Manager;

    turn guests into regulars and neighbors into friends by embodying a hospitality-first mindset.

    The absolute must-haves for a candidate to be considered for this role:

    Open (full-time) availability & flexibility to work holidays, weekends, and occasional overtime.

    The ability to spend up to 8 hours in constant motion working on one’s feet.

    A hunger to learn & grow within the hospitality industry.

    A keen attention to detail.

    A level-headed disposition under pressure.

    A sense of humor.

    A reasonable baseline of restaurant work experience.

    A good reason to have made the leap into management.

    And, a few pluses that we will happily put to good use on the team:

    Experience with Toast POS, 7shifts, MarginEdge, Tripleseat, or Open Table.

    High-level wine, cocktail, and other beverage knowledge (or mid-level knowledge with a serious passion to keep learning more).

    Prior experience managing P&L factors and working with budgets, inventory, and financial KPIs.

    Proficiency in working with & creating spreadsheets.

    3+ years’ experience in managing high-volume and/or high-touch restaurants.

    Prior or current experience as a General Manager, Assistant General Manager, or Restaurant Manager at a casual or upscale full-service restaurant.
