JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Software Quality Assurance Engineer role will help bring our world-class electronics and proprietary sensors to life through verification of robust, reliable, efficient solutions. This role also will be relied upon during design phases for new products to ensure quality needs are met by the system and software designs. Expected to invent creative methods to meet the unique and demanding quality needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collaborate with the “Sensors Group” to design test plans and procedures
• Participate in test planning and schedule creation
• Develop QA test plans for software and firmware applications
• Create and execute integration and functional tests to verity software and firmware
• Create and track software/firmware issue items
• Report test progress and software/firmware issue rates
• Participate in design reviews across all product categories to increase cross-team awareness and ensure quality standards are met

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 5+ years experience in software testing or related fields
• Be able to articulate subject matter expertise in all of the minimum qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or electrical engineering, or equivalent practical experience
• Proven track record of designing and executing software testing throughout all phases of the software development life-cycle
• Experience with requirements-based testing and requirements-based development
• Experience with issue tracking systems (such as JIRA)
• Experience collaborating closely with software development teams
• Experience testing software on embedded devices
• Preferred: Experience with Python software development
• Preferred: Experience with Java/JavaScript/Node.js software development
• Preferred: Industry expert with collaboration tools (Confluence, Teams, DevOps)
• Preferred: Awesome communication skills
• Preferred: Experience with agile development processes
