    Job description

    As a leading Residential Treatment Center in the Greater Richmond area, Hallmark Youthcare treats adolescents with emotional and behavioral issues triggered by trauma. Treatment is provided in a warm and friendly environment by a group of well-trained, highly motivated staff that takes pride in delivering quality care.

    We are currently accepting applications for Certified Medication Aides who have a strong desire to work with a team of committed clinicians to create a safe and fun place for our residents to heal.

    Schedule:

    Night Shift: 3pm-11:30pm,

    Salary: Up to $23.25 per hour (Including Shift Differentials)

    Duties:

    • Administers and accurately records the administration of medications as indicated by individual residential care plan schedules, and in accordance with established policies and procedures, and state/federal regulations
    • Determines and records effectiveness of medications in a timely and accurate manner
    • Observes, records, and reports symptoms and conditions of residents that could be related to medication interactions, adverse drug reactions or medication side effects
    • Monitors medications to ensure adequate accountability measures are taken when medications are administered and at change of shift
    • Stores medications in a safe manner in accordance with established policies and procedures and state/federal regulations
    • Routinely inspects, cleans and monitors equipment and supplies to ensure resident safety. Reports any equipment or supply issues for correction or repair
    • Completes rounds with previous and oncoming shifts; gives and participates in report; records and reports vital signs as indicated during the administration of medications
    • Complete resident summaries; notes changes in development or care needs
    • Evaluate and record vital signs, BP, TPR’s and WT’s
    • Interim Youth Counselor duties when needed; cover breaks, manage schedule changes, observe trainees, monitor units as floater
    • Follow all infection control policies, procedures and processes before, during and after performing any service for a resident
    • Adhere to HIPAA regulations to maintain resident confidentiality

    Requirements:

    • High School Diploma or GED
    • Ability to obtain First Aid/CPR training
    • Registered Medication Aide, in accordance with the laws of the state of Virginia
    • Experience in residential facility setting, group homes, psychiatric hospitals, or similar environments, preferred

    License/Certification:

    • Virginia Driver's License in "Good Standing" (Preferred)
    • Medication Aide Certification (Required)
