As a leading Residential Treatment Center in the Greater Richmond area, Hallmark Youthcare treats adolescents with emotional and behavioral issues triggered by trauma. We are currently accepting applications for Certified Medication Aides who have a strong desire to work with a team of committed clinicians to create a safe and fun place for our residents to heal.
Schedule:
Night Shift: 3pm-11:30pm,
Salary: Up to $23.25 per hour (Including Shift Differentials)
Duties:
- Administers and accurately records the administration of medications as indicated by individual residential care plan schedules, and in accordance with established policies and procedures, and state/federal regulations
- Determines and records effectiveness of medications in a timely and accurate manner
- Observes, records, and reports symptoms and conditions of residents that could be related to medication interactions, adverse drug reactions or medication side effects
- Monitors medications to ensure adequate accountability measures are taken when medications are administered and at change of shift
- Stores medications in a safe manner in accordance with established policies and procedures and state/federal regulations
- Routinely inspects, cleans and monitors equipment and supplies to ensure resident safety. Reports any equipment or supply issues for correction or repair
- Completes rounds with previous and oncoming shifts; gives and participates in report; records and reports vital signs as indicated during the administration of medications
- Complete resident summaries; notes changes in development or care needs
- Evaluate and record vital signs, BP, TPR’s and WT’s
- Interim Youth Counselor duties when needed; cover breaks, manage schedule changes, observe trainees, monitor units as floater
- Follow all infection control policies, procedures and processes before, during and after performing any service for a resident
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations to maintain resident confidentiality
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to obtain First Aid/CPR training
- Registered Medication Aide, in accordance with the laws of the state of Virginia
- Experience in residential facility setting, group homes, psychiatric hospitals, or similar environments, preferred
