    As a leading Residential Treatment Center in the Greater Richmond area, Hallmark Youthcare treats adolescents with emotional and behavioral issues triggered by trauma. Treatment is provided in a warm and friendly environment by a group of well-trained, highly motivated staff that takes pride in delivering quality care.

    We are currently looking for an EDUCATION COORDINATOR to provide office support for primarily the principal and teaching staff by maintaining accurate up-to-date databases of all students (current and former), maintaining accurate departmental filing systems, responding appropriately to correspondence, preparing reports as directed, and performing related follow-up activities. Support for other departments as needed.

    PAY: 52,0000 TO 63,000 ANNUALLY

    DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Under the direction of the Director of Education, the Education Coordinator oversees:
    • Coordination, organization and supervision of day-to-day education programs and services.
    • Ensures standards of quality education are met by achieving defined objectives through planning, supervision, evaluation, coaching
    • Development, implementation and maintenance of services and documentation in compliance with established guidelines and in accordance with various approving or accrediting bodies such as Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospitals; Virginia Department of Education; and state and national associations for private special education facilities.

    SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Minimum Education: Master’s Degree in Education field, Special Education preferred
    • Minimum Work Experience: A minimum of three (3) years of prior experience dealing with emotionally disturbed adolescents in an education setting.
    • Strong organizational skills and the ability to follow and to meet state and federal education requirements
    • Knowledge of the principles and practices of teaching, principles of special education, and principles of education administration
    • Knowledge of the theories and methods of teaching persons with emotional and behavioral needs
    • Knowledge of problems of curriculum, supervision, instruction, and guidance.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications/Software

    REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:

    • Current Professional License (or License Eligible) to teach and educate issued by the State of Virginia Board of Education, Special Education preferred.
    • Must be certified or able to become certified in CPR, first aid, AED, and Handle with Care.
    • Must have valid Virginia Driver’s License in good standing if on Hallmark’s Approved Driver’s List
