    Controls Engineer

They provide services to a very diverse set of industries from biotechnology & pharmaceuticals to metals & mining. They are a privately held company with offices in Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and Texas and are committed to serving our customers’ needs both locally and worldwide. As an Engineer, you will have a direct impact on meeting our customers’ needs.

    They are seeking a Controls Systems Engineer to assist in the design, development, implementation, and documentation of control and management information systems that meet their customers’ functional requirements.

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Programming devices such as automation controllers using Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) control systems
    • Developing graphical Human Machine Interface (HMI) systems
    • Developing application code for Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
    • Developing code for plant floor information systems
    • Working with the design team to prepare design drawings and specifications
    • Working as a member of a project team on projects that span the complete project life cycle
    • Commissioning final systems at manufacturing facilities
    • Managing projects and internal resources on project assignments

    Requirements

    • Bachelors (or higher) degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering,
    • Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science
    • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in the process control industry
    • Possess in-depth knowledge of programming concepts
    • Thorough knowledge of business application software (MS Office package)
    • Strong written and oral communication skills
    • Prior experience with PLC, HMI, SCADA, DCS, and MES technologies and a general understanding of manufacturing processes not necessary but a plus
    • Displays a positive and professional demeanor.
    • Demonstrates a flexible and cooperative working style and any prior leadership experience is a plus
    • Willing to work off-hours when required
    • Must possess a valid driver’s license
    • Willing to submit to drug testing and/or background checks as mandated for a) employment, and b) customer contract requirements
