    Associate Engineer

As an Engineer, you will have a direct impact on meeting our customers’ needs.

    Responsibilities

    • Develops the basic technical skills required to program HMI, PLC, DCS, and/or plant floor information systems, and understand process flow, decision points, and IT logic. Possesses good working knowledge of computers, business applications, and networking.
    • Demonstrates the ability to deliver business value through technology while improving efficiency and productivity. Able to replicate programming solutions. Understands the terminology and acronyms encountered in the job. Demonstrates the ability to understand a structured execution methodology and technical requirements leading to technical delivery, documentation, and execution deployment plans.
    • Demonstrates the ability to think through problems and troubleshoot their own code. Willing to consider alternate solutions if the first attempt is unsuccessful.
    • Follows the direction of a technical lead or project manager. Utilizes their technical knowledge to best implement the plan, and reports issues to management as they arise.
    • Demonstrates the ability to transcribe integration tasks to specification and qualification documents. Able to use existing templates to create a new specification or test document. Able to revise a document to add new functions.
    • Eager to learn new platforms, technologies, and industries. Seeks advice from more senior MES engineers. Equally committed to developing their soft skills.
    • Demonstrates the ability to work within a team environment. Able to communicate effectively with project and personnel managers.
    • Practices attentive and active listening. Hears all instructions. Aware of internal and external customer requirements. Receptive to constructive criticism.
    • Accurately represents their work and able to admit mistakes. Understands how their job assignments impact others and updates their project team of their progress.

    Required Qualifications:

    • BS Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science with at least 2 years of relevant experience
    • Previous MES programming experience, working knowledge, and or growing interest in database integration or object-oriented programming is preferred.
    • Custom coding experience with any of the modern programming languages like HTML 5, or C#, Dotnet, Javascript, SQL server is a plus.
    • Basic knowledge of concepts and theories consistent with obtaining a technical bachelor’s degree
    • Working knowledge of business application software (MS Office package)
    • Previous field or office work experience (internship, co-op, volunteering) can be considered for the right candidate
    • Strong written and oral communication skills and displays a positive and professional demeanor
    • Demonstrates a flexible and cooperative working style and willing to work off-hours when required
    • Must possess a valid driver’s license
    • Willing to submit to drug testing and/or background checks as mandated for employment, and b) customer contract requirements

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Prior demonstrated leadership experience
    • A general understanding of manufacturing processes
    • Willing and able to travel to customers’ sites when required.
    • Perform specific tasks as defined in their Engineering Skills List.
