    HMMH is a trusted leader in the study, assessment, and mitigation of the impacts of new and existing transportation projects on communities. We provide consulting services to government and private sector clients related to aviation, highway, rail, transit, industrial, construction, military, recreational, and entertainment projects. 

    We have an immediate opening for an Environmental Services Consultant in our Surface Transportation Group in a hybrid position based out of Anaheim, CA which will include fieldwork along with the ability to work both in the Burlington office and remotely. This position will focus on assessing environmental compliance of construction activities and monitoring, evaluating, and documenting rail and highway project noise & vibration impacts.     

    POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Support weekly in-field evaluation of construction project compliance with environmental requirements, completing daily logs of construction activities.
    • Support project teams in the measurement, documentation, and evaluation of project noise, vibration, and air quality impacts.
    • Use your quantitative data analysis skills to support the development of project noise models.
    • Participate in noise and vibration measurement trips.
    • Write technical memos and reports.
    • Interact with project team members and clients.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    • BA or BS, in a technical field (engineering, physics, math, or environmental sciences)
    • 0-2 years of technical work experience
    • Strong quantitative, analytical, and communication skills
    • Attention to detail and ability to work on multiple projects effectively
    • Must have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
    • Must have a valid driver’s license
    • Willingness to conduct regular fieldwork and travel occasionally for field measurements
    • Desire to use physics, math, and/or engineering skills within an established and respected consulting firm with an emphasis on technical excellence, honesty, ethics, respect, teamwork, and professional development.

    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Experience using GIS for data acquisition, analysis, and reporting functions
    • Previous consulting or construction support experience
