    Job Description

    The IT Support Intern will assist staff in software, hardware, systems and technology tasks and requests. The IT Support Intern position is a paid internship ($12 per hour) that will ideally work now through spring semester with the possibility of summer 2022 and the following school year. This is an office-based position in Manhattan, Kansas. All IT Support Interns applicants should live in the Manhattan, Kansas area for the duration of the internship and be a student pursuing an undergraduate degree in IT or Systems Management or a closely related field.

    WHAT YOU'LL DO:

    • Provide technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to software, hardware, networking, and computer information systems.
    • Respond in a timely manner to technical support queries via phone, email, or in-person.
    • Help create and update process documentation.
    • Implement and train on the proper use of computer software security.
    • Identify system vulnerabilities and analyze configurations to improve security detection techniques. 
    • Prevent network-based attacks and assess the risk for potential attacks.
    • Provide employees with support and guidance on technology equipment maintenance.
    • Obtain feedback from employees about their processes and document changes as appropriate.
    • Initiate and monitor security audits.
    • Maintain and strengthen existing vendor relationships through effective communication.
    • IT-related duties as required.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Current student pursuing an undergraduate degree
    • Experience with customer service and support preferred.
    • Ability to work with and set up computer equipment, software, networking equipment and hardware tools.
    • Valid Class driver’s license.
    • Be able to lift 35 pounds.
    • Must be able to organize and categorize multiple classes of data & communicate complex material clearly.
    • Detail-orientated with an aptitude for problem-solving.
