Job Description
The IT Support Intern will assist staff in software, hardware, systems and technology tasks and requests. The IT Support Intern position is a paid internship ($12 per hour) that will ideally work now through spring semester with the possibility of summer 2022 and the following school year. This is an office-based position in Manhattan, Kansas. All IT Support Interns applicants should live in the Manhattan, Kansas area for the duration of the internship and be a student pursuing an undergraduate degree in IT or Systems Management or a closely related field.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Provide technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to software, hardware, networking, and computer information systems.
- Respond in a timely manner to technical support queries via phone, email, or in-person.
- Help create and update process documentation.
- Implement and train on the proper use of computer software security.
- Identify system vulnerabilities and analyze configurations to improve security detection techniques.
- Prevent network-based attacks and assess the risk for potential attacks.
- Provide employees with support and guidance on technology equipment maintenance.
- Obtain feedback from employees about their processes and document changes as appropriate.
- Initiate and monitor security audits.
- Maintain and strengthen existing vendor relationships through effective communication.
- IT-related duties as required.
